Narmug: Chapter 1

Thamika is a magical land in the midst of the dense forest Narmug. It is invisible to the human eyes, and people tend to disappear as soon as they step the border of Thamika. Stories of vague disappearances spread far and wide in the surrounding villages of the dense forest Narmug, and people feared crossing the forest.

An old house stood in midst of the forest and remained unoccupied due to the weird stories of ghosts and magical creatures haunting the forest. Such were the state of affairs when a family moved into the house. The villagers were surprised and made it their priority to visit the family the next morning and warn them about the forest. The house was occupied by Mr. & Mrs. Strutee and their two daughters Pietre and Aimy, aged 12 and 5.

Strutee had to do research with regard to different species of birds and hence had rented the home for his research purposes. He was keen on completing his research and hence did not pay heed to the words of the villagers. The Strutees stay on the first day at the home was peaceful and pleasant.

Slowly darkness crept in..each of the girls had their own rooms and the entire family soon settled down to deep slumber...four tiny footsteps entered inside the home, the slight creaking of the wood could be heard, a fox gave a deep howl in the distance..the footsteps continued to climb the stairs and paused in front of Pietre's room....

"Is it true...?!",inquired the small dwarf Magine..."Yes it is...it is true; didn’t you see the signs...have you not heard the legend? It is happening..." said Frauk, the older dwarf. "What shall we do with the girl Frauk?!!"..."Na..na...let us leave her alone...things will happen according to the legend...she will come to meet us...na...na...let us leave" hissed Frauk. They left without making any noise...
